Who we are

Walking Tours Madrid is operated by Mathew Beech, a self-employed professional (autónomo) registered in Spain. If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact bookings@walkingtoursmadrid.com.

What information we collect

When you make a booking, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and the number of people in your party. If you send us a private tour enquiry or a message through our contact form, we collect the details you enter there (your name, email address, and anything else you choose to include, such as a phone number, group size, preferred dates, or your message). If you contact us directly (by email or WhatsApp), we collect whatever information you choose to share with us.

We do not collect or store your payment card details. Payments are processed directly by Stripe, our payment provider, under their own privacy and security terms.

How we use your information

We use your information to confirm and manage your booking, communicate with you about your tour (including any changes due to weather or minimum numbers), and respond to questions or complaints. We do not use your information for marketing unless you separately opt in.

Who we share it with

We share booking information with Stripe for the purpose of processing payment. We also use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under their own security and data-processing terms, to run the website:

• Resend, to send booking confirmations and replies to your enquiries by email
• Neon, which hosts the database where bookings and enquiries are stored
• Vercel, which hosts the website
• Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, only if you accept analytics cookies, to understand how visitors use the site. This involves some data (such as your approximate location and device or browser type) being transferred to Google, including outside the EU.

We do not sell or share your information with any other third party for their own marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep booking information for as long as necessary to fulfil the booking and to meet our legal and tax obligations, after which it is deleted. Enquiries and messages that don't lead to a booking are kept for a reasonable period so we can follow up, then deleted.

Your rights

Under Spanish and EU data protection law (GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To exercise any of these rights, contact bookings@walkingtoursmadrid.com.

If you believe your data has been handled incorrectly, you also have the right to complain to the Spanish data protection authority (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, www.aepd.es).

We may update this policy from time to time. The version published here is always the current one.
